2 Cs and a Bee would like to congratulate Teresa Bryson on being selected as 2010 Pennsylvania State Honey Queen. Here is a short biography in her own words.
Hello, my name is Teresa Bryson and I am the 2010 Pennsylvania Honey Queen. I am the 18 year old daughter of Tom and Linda Bryson of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. My family and I live on Walnut Grove Apiaries, our small sheep, goat and honey farm in southern Franklin County. I have been homeschooled my entire school career and graduated in June of 2008, receiving a diploma with Distinction and Academic Honors. Currently, I am a student at Hagerstown Community College, majoring in Criminal Justice. I plan to transfer to a four year University to receive a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Forensic Science so I can work as a Crime Scene Investigator. I am an active 4-H member, having been involved in the Franklin County 4-H program for the past nine years. Through the various clubs I attend, I have received numerous Best of Show awards, the Junior Achievement Award, I Dare You Award and I was chosen for state level competition for several of my projects. Moreover, I am an agricultural educator at the Franklin County 4-H Agricultural Center, instructing local students about the importance of Agriculture in Franklin County. In addition, I am very active in my church and have been a choir member for the past nine years. In my free time, I enjoy reading, sewing, cooking, and caring for the bees and other animals on my family’s farm. As the Pennsylvania Honey Princess, I will travel across the state promoting the honey and the beekeeping industries, by attending fairs, festivals and farmers markets. In addition, I will be attending many schools, educating students about the importance of honeybees, beekeepers and the many types of honey. I look forward to meeting many of you during my year as 2010 Pennsylvania Honey Queen.
